I also worked in the suffolk community colleges bookstore as an undergraduate and books tend to be pricey but the publisher is the one that raises the prices on textbooks not the bookstores. I understand a few people may have had a bad experience at this store but I continue to shop at this store and they frequently custom order textbooks for me over the last couple of years. I went to return a book because my professor said he made a mistake and decided not to use it this semester. I went to Stony Books WITH A RECEIPT! Today was the last day you could get a refund. After I hand over the book and receipt he asks me for my schedule. I explained to him that the teacher decided not to use that text. Then the guy gives me an attitude! He accused me of lying! It was truly unbelievable. He was incredibly rude and a jerk. I hope the Best Bargain Bookstore that opened by the mall puts Stony Books out of business! Stony Books is the worst!
