April of 2006, UC Berekely decided to document and offer their courses online and now, here they are. Available are 59 courses which you can take online, of course, you won’t get any credit but this is the real deal! No matter where you live, you can access at no cost the very same courses attended by students paying full tuition. And, given the critical mass of courses being offered across a range of disciplines, you can put together your own personalized curriculum and expand your horizons on the fly.
If the humanities are your thing, you can take US History: From Civil War to Present, Existentialism in Literature & Film, or European Civilization from the Renaissance to Present. If you’re into the social sciences, you may want to consider World Religions, Peoples and States, US Foreign Policy after 9/11, Human Emotions, or Introduction to Statistics. Turning to the hard sciences, you can take your pick from Physics for Future Presidents, Introduction to Chemistry, General Astronomy, and General Biology. Finally, for those with a technology bent, you can consider listening in on An Introduction to Computers, The History of Information or even The Foundations of American CyberCulture. But, if these particular courses aren’t for you, there are many more to choose from.

So long MySpace addiction, I’been trying so hard to let ya go and finally I have. Unlike my crazy friend Chomell (a.k.a Mr Jhendi [im famous bitches]), he’s all up on it everyday! Countless hours wasted in front of a computer, refreshing till ya get a comment!
I guess I’m not going anywhere with this but have you ever wondered why MySpace is so popular? I mean, Digg.com says it’s the worst site ever according to it’s design and interface but why are so many teens addicted? Damn MySpace Tom is getting richer everyday! BTW, I have a friend at Stony Brook who looks just like his infamous picture.
Some Legitiment Excuses for MySpace:
1) All my friends got it, so I want it. (Damn Bandwagon!)
2) I’m bored, heck why not?
3) I need a space to express myself, why not MySpace!
4) I want to publicize my popularity and show others people care about me!*
* Damn bitoches.. haha
Want to kill your MySpace addiction? Here’s How! (WikiHow)
- Admit you have a problem. This may be hard, but accepting that MySpace has taken over your life is an important step into overcoming your addiction. If you simply can’t resist the urge to check your home page, then it’s clear that MySpace is controlling you and not the other way around.
- Stop communicating with people through MySpace and correspond with only those you know, as fellow addicts only contribute to your problem. If you don’t want to cut them off completely, consider just taking the friendships that you value off of MySpace. Get their phone numbers, email addresses, AIM screen names, ICQ numbers, or any other information that may be a way of contacting them outside of MySpace. (See Tips.)
- Print out your page. You’ve probably personalized it and tweaked it to reflect your personality. In a way, it’s a work of art that you created. You don’t want it to be lost forever, so save a copy in print. Having a hard copy will make it easier to let go of your profile online.
- Start deleting all of the images, comment boxes, background settings, songs, videos, and anything else you put on the page that didn’t come with it. Make it into a plain MySpace profile, like it was when you started it. End all blog subscriptions that you have signed up for. Turn off all email notifications.
- Post several bulletins announcing that you will be no longer available on MySpace.
- Delete your main pictures, blog, comments, friends, etc. If your profile is set to private, set it back to normal. Reset the information about yourself.
- Change the headline to “No Longer Available” or some other indicator that you no longer use MySpace.
- Stop using MySpace. Get an e-mail filter and set it to block MySpace, Facebook, or any other similar sites.
- Find other creative activities to do. Try to find activities that both amuse you in the short-term and benefit you in the long-term. MySpace only provides a short-term pleasure (usually).
- Very importantly, keep in contact with your friends through phone, e-mail, or messenger! Not talking to them may make you want to return to MySpace.
- After waiting a good month and re-establishing your life, go back and delete your MySpace. It shouldn’t, at this point, rip your heart out to do so.
- Never go back to myspace, as it will possibly trigger a relapse into the addiction again.

I’ve been at college for so long, I had no idea there was free skating at Bryant Park at 42nd Street in New York City!

The Pond returns as the centerpiece of Fêtes de Noël, which also includes the fifth annual Holiday Shops at Bryant Park. The 170′ x 100′ rink features free admission ice skating, in addition to high quality rental skates, skating lessons, skating shows, special events and activities.
Skaters of all levels are welcome. Whether you are looking to skate before going to the office, through the lunch hour, with friends at a party, with a date, or for a spin under the stars at a holiday party, The Pond at Bryant Park, presented by Citi, is a perfect destination.
I defiantly busted my ass a couple of times, still trying to do the power stop! haha. Enjoy a day, bring your own skates or rent some comfy ones for just $9!
