Yesterday I was on the 6 train at around 3 going to see a friend. All of a sudden, this guy walks in at the Brooklyn Bridge station and starts taking off his pants. I look at him weird, like what is this guy doing? I figured that he was a jogger and that he just finished his route. Note: Below is NOT the guy I saw.

Nope, Check out these sexy legs! I was wrong, it was the annual No Pants Subway Ride Day. Check out the pictures here! I’m defiantly participating next year!
If you keep up with my blog, you would know that I’m a regular at Digg.com. A social networking website and if you are familiar with Digg, then you should be familiar with the “Digg effect“. The Digg effect is term coined to mean the amount of digg users to visit your website to causing a server downtime.
Definition of the Digg Effect:
“Digg has grown large enough that submissions sometimes create a sudden increase of traffic to the “dugg” website. This is referred to by some Digg users as the “Digg effect” and by some others as the site being “dugg to death“. However, in many cases stories are linked simultaneously on several popular bookmarking sites. In such cases, the impact of the “digg effect” is difficult to isolate and assess.”

The Experiment
Out of curiosity, I decided to setup an experiment to see my University’s servers at Stony Brook have the bandwidth to withstand the force of the “digg effect“. The web page being used for this experiment is my personal homepage on the university student sites.
My Hypothesis
I believe that servers at a University such as Stony Brook University should be able to handle a sudden increase in traffic such experienced in a digg effect.
http://digg.com/design/Can_University_Servers_Stand_the_Digg_Effect…
I hope that this will be an successful experiment and that users of the Digg community will participate.
I’m very excited to see the outcome of this!
BTW: This is my Stony Brook student page.
Never mind the “Rob K” part of the title, it’s an inside joke for a friend of mine!
Did you ever want to know your IP address but didn’t know how to get it? Well there are several ways. One with the ipconfig command if you’re on Windows or the arp command on Linux/Unix and two if you go to whatsmyip.org but there’s something way better for you guys out there! And for Rob.

There is MoanMyIP.com where a voice of a girl moans your IP address to you. Man, things you find on the internet these days… But I’d rather have a girl who’s about to have an orgasm scream out my IP address to me than to type having to type in a few commands to get it! Nothing beats this, not only does she read it out for you, but in a voice to die for.
DISCLAIMER: I’m not responsible if you get fired at your job for simply trying to look for your IP address. If you need to hear your IP at work, you can go to HearMyIP.com. It’s owned by the same people but HearMyIP allows you to hear it in a male robotic voice. It guarantees your job at the end of the day.
TIP: If you go and visit the site multiple times, she says some pretty unique things before she reads your IP address again. Check it out, go back a few times!
For those of you who hate Microsoft Windows, you’ll love what I found on Digg this afternoon. It’s this amazing wallpaper by lahandi from DeviantArt! Check it out!

Isn’t this the best linux wallpaper background ever? The bottom reads “In a world without walls and fences, We need no Windows and Gates”. Genius! Need I say more?
I personally think that Bill Gates is a great man and he has created something wonderful, after all it is a business for Microsoft. I don’t hate Microsoft or Gates, but this is a great wallpaper!
Download it here:

I saw someone take a quiz titled “How Addicted to Blogging Are You?“, he scored 75%, and I said to myself, oh I’m probably a lot less than that. So I thought it would be fun and interesting to know how addicted to blogging I was so I took this little quiz at Mingle2.
The results took me by surprise! I’m 80% addicted to blogging! Gee, maybe I am addicted, I only have 5 blogs that I author and spend about at least an hour reading different blogs a day. What? Thats not normal? You guys don’t do that too? Oh, I’m sure you do… No? Crap! I am addicted! Ahhhh
HELP!
Well to think of it, its not all that bad, I’ve almost replaced everything I use to do to get information from like watching TV or reading newspapers to reading blogs. I don’t even watch the news on TV anymore, all I do is go to Digg.com and get all my news. Is that so horrible?
Here are the questions I answered on my quiz:
Q: Where is your blog located?
A: My own domain (for example: www.tonycai.com)
Q: How often do you update your blog?
A: Several times a week
Q: How many blogs (actual blogs, not individual blog entries) do you read a day?
A: 6-12
Q: How much time do you spend reading blogs?
A: 1-2 hours a day
Q: How many different blogs do you post entries on?
A: 4
Q: Have you ever ‘live blogged?’ (where you blog about an event as it’s happening)
A: Yes
Q: How do you stay up to date with all your favorite blogs?
A: I visit each one individually and read it
Q: Have you ever blown off an important task, such as studying for an exam or making a deadline, because you were blogging?
A: No
Q: If something interesting happens to you, do you immediately think about how you’re going to write about it on your blog?
A: Sometimes
Q: What do you usually blog about?
A: Anything and everything, including personal issues or something funny you saw at the park the other day
Q: What kind of blogging do you do?
A: Professional & Personal
Q: Have you ever tried to convince a friend or family member they should start a blog?
A: Yes
Q: Have you ever come up with a great blog idea while doing something completely random, such as taking a shower or watching a movie?
A: Yes
Q: When this quiz is over, do you plan on blogging about your blogging addiction?
A: Yes
Go ahead and take the quiz and post me your results! I’m interested! ![]()
Yet another edition of one of my tutorials. This time, we will hack the Motorola phones from Verizon and get it working using the internet without Mobile Web (a $5 service from Verizon). There are two proxies you can use freely that are popular, the Google one and the Yahoo one. I’ve been using the Google one for almost a year now and it works well except I cannot access Gmail on it. So I’m gonna come up with instructions on how to do it using Yahoo’s proxy.

To get to the menu to hack the phone, press Menu > 073887* quickly and enter the default password which is “000000” then go to Web Sessions. This will only work on certain Motorola phones, I’m using the Motorola E815. So before I start, for those of you who wants to use Google, my current configuration is this:
Gateway IP 1: 64.233.167.99
Service Type 1: HTTP
Port 1: 80
E2E Port 1: 9201
LXL Port 1: 9201
Yahoo’s Proxy ::
Gateway IP 1: 66.94.234.13 (Still Searching For Yahoo’s IP)
Service Type 1: HTTP
Port 1: 80
E2E Port 1: 9201
LXL Port 1: 9201
Save the session, make it as default and use Google as your WAP. It’s free but airtime minutes still apply, so does with Mobile Web so use it after 9PM or when important!
Wow, great, finally something awesome in the video gaming world besides the actual release of Rockstar’s GTA IV, which I think will be the hottest GTA ever! You know how they have the crazy radio stations on GTA the game? Well now you have a chance to be one of those crazy callers on Laslo’s talk show.

What you have to do is call this number: 212-360-2368 and wait for the beep and start to record your own little random things to say. Once that’s done, Rockstar will screen all the calls and pick out the ones they feel is the most funniest and random calls of all and put them in the actual video game coming out this November for Xbox 360 and soon after for the PC.
So yeah, go ahead and give them a call, tell them whats wrong with American society, bitch about the girl next door, yell the guy down the block out for kicking your dog! ![]()
So, you all are familiar with Facebook’s new API applications, well, those of you who use Facebook. Well, there is an application called Graffiti, basically what it does is allows you to paint a picture with your mouse and use it as your wall post. Neat idea but this picture really made my day. I came home from a long days work and I see this in my Facebook wall.

It’s Lily’s version of me in Pokemon, I was really hoping I was the Pokemon trainer but it turns out that I’m the Squirtle!! This is really funny! I enjoyed it and it was a good laugh and hope it was for you too.
It was really good artistic skills on Lily’s part, awesome! ![]()
It’s been a while since my last post again, still very busy but I managed to have some fun still. Last week, my friends and I walked to Long Island sound and stole a row boat along with some oars and rowed out hoping to reach Connecticut, of course that didn’t happen because it was too far to row but we still had our fun. We went out on low tide and the sand bars were so high that we had to get out and push the boat most of the time. We then got onto an isolated island and made a campfire. Nothing better than the great outdoors on Earth Day. Fun Fun Fun.
