Conversation With Pat Phelan and Tony Cai

Oh my god! I just had a conversation with a soon to be famous figure on the telecommunications industry! He’s the CEO of AllFreeCalls.net, the company that provides free calling to anywhere in the world for free. The service is only two days old and it’s already popular amongst social networks. When this truly goes public, he’s gonna be famous!

Pat Phelan: did you find quality ok?
Tony Cai: It’s great.
Tony Cai: Do you plan to have other numbers in case call loads get heavier
Pat Phelan: we have capacity for 160 million minutes on standby
Tony Cai: Minutes as in this service is not indefinite?
Pat Phelan: indefinite, i hve a guarntee unless the FCC change legislation until 2010
Pat Phelan: we will also be adding new countries soon
Tony Cai: Wow. this is great.
Pat Phelan: where do you call?
Tony Cai: I don’t call anywhere specific but I have tested the service in a few countries.
Tony Cai: It sounds great. and I’m calling with my VOIP service so it’s totally free for me, not even a charge to call to Iowa. :)
Tony Cai: By the way, are you from Iowa?
Pat Phelan: great,I would love to get it up to 50 countries in the next 10 weeks, thats our target

See Stats For Blog Launched For 1 Week

So it’s officially a week since I launched my blog and it’s been a big hit! I’m a believer of “if you build it, they will come” of course with the help of Digg, Technorati and various pinging services. It tells me that I’m going on the right direction with the content of my blog. I’m really happy to see this grow, I check the dot map of the geo-locations of visitors every day! LOL.

Below are the stats from Google Analytics:

I’d like to thank WordPress for their awesome blogging system, the authors of all my plugins, Digg, Technorati and MyBlogLog for their neat community features. All the services allowed me to do what I do. Again thanks.

Call International Worldwide Free

Thats right! Now you can call anywhere in the world for free! No calling cards, nothing! Simple dial 712-858-8094 and when prompted dial 011 + Country Code + Number! It’s that easy! Eliminate buying phone cards all together. You will be charged as a local call, I have VOIP [[Voice Over IP]] calling to anywhere where in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico so a simple call to Iowa won’t cost me anything. If you own a cell phone and have free nights and weekends, this could defiantly benefit you.

So far, the countries that are available for free are:

Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil (Rio De Janerio), Canada, China, Christmas & Coco’s Island, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland (Warsaw), Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, UK and USA.

And more are coming soon, so check back at my blog and I will update!
Shh, keep this on the down low! lol :P

!UPDATE!

TIP: Wait for all the messages to pass, right after it says Thank you, you can start dialing your destination number, if you dial while they are speaking, it might not go through.

The service is back online again however the way to use it has changed. Please visit Yak4Ever a.k.a AllFreeCalls to see instructions!

In a jolly mood, how about a song?:

Apple iPhone Hype Is Over? Disappointing..

I’d say so, with all the good things that the iPhone does, other phones that already exists can do too! Japan had phones that could do a lot more a long time ago, so the United States are just catching up to them. TechCrunch reported a 10 million page hits on their iPhone article when it was initially posted the first day. Now, it’s pretty much old news. The bill with the iPhone will be high for sure, calculating to $1,900+ a year for service. That’s too much for what a regular cell phone can do today! Think about it, it’s not all that crazy!

Others weren’t too happy when Steve Jobs announced the release of JUST the iPhone and AppleTV at MacWorld 2007, many others were expecting a new MiniMac, new displays, new MacBook models, but none of those were even mentioned at MacWorld. Disappointing!

My three cents: LOL! :P
- Your gonna get robbed [[possibly beaten for it]] if you purchase it.
- Bill is too damn high. $1900+? Hell NO!
- Ehh, other phones can do what it can do.

“I Spammed TechCrunch” Experiment

As you know, Yahoo recently acquired MyBlogLog, a MySpace for all blogs or an alternative to Gravatars. Well since it’s acquisition, it has been a target for spam. Until they find a way to fix it, I’m spamming TechCrunch for free! Muhahaha. Somebody STOP ME! lol [[I'm probably gonna get my account banned]]. Please don’t it’s an experiment.

However, I do admire what MyBlogLog is trying to do. It’s a great idea and it’s catching on fast especially with more advertising that Yahoo will put into it. Who knows, this might make Yahoo 360 the number 1 visited site in the United States right ahead of the oh so popular MySpace!

Sign up for MyBlogLog now!

Now MyBlogLog is working hard to find a way around this. Until then, free advertising for everyone! Make it flashy and go get em!

My OpenDNS Results – One Week’s Usage

This graph below shows my DNS requests from my house. This shows you guys how much of the internet I use each and everyday. It might not beat the crazy ONLINE 24/7 type guys but I bet I beat most of you! lol :P

How do I obtain this data?

Well going back to my first blog post, I mentioned a service called OpenDNS, and from there, it tracks my every click and displays it in this pretty orange graph. OpenDNS does a lot more than just show a pretty graph though. It allows you to browse faster and smarter, I highly recommend it over your default ISP’s DNS service. Best of all it’s free!

See more about OpenDNS from my first post!

Yahoo Messenger for Microsoft Windows Vista

This is the first instant messenger program made specifically for Windows Vista, and boy it looks HOT! I think I’ll start using Yahoo messenger more often if they keep up the good work! I’m currently using OpenSource GAIM!

Below are some information from Yahoo:

Built from the ground up specifically for Microsoft Windows Vista, this all-new version combines the reliable and easy-to-use features you’ve always loved from Yahoo! Messenger with the cutting-edge experience of this new operating system.

  • Instant message, voice, webcam video, and more
  • Use the integrated Yahoo! Messenger Sidebar gadget to keep up with the friends that matter most
  • Also add Windows Live™ Messenger friends to your contact list to see when they’re online and IM them
  • Keep conversations organized by dragging and dropping them into one tabbed window
  • Brand new emoticons, program icons and alert sounds
  • Instantly change the look and feel of your Yahoo! Messenger interface
  • Automatic groups are created in your contact list based on your Yahoo! interests (i.e. Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football league)

Heres a cool video of how it works straight from Yahoo Labs!

See “The Inconvenient Truth” Free Of Charge

Thats right! Get it on DVD free a charge, I’ll tell you how in a minute but I want to share with you what this movie means. This is actually a funny story about how I stumbled upon this movie. I wanted to see a movie, any movie and I didn’t care. All the box office hits were sold out so I picked a random movie. The Inconvenient Truth, when I went to sit down, I couldn’t find a seat for my friend and I. The there was virtually full. I thought to myself, but WHY? I haven’t even heard about this movie before, why is it so popular? Well when it started, I realized that it wasn’t a comedy or a movie with a story. It was an attempt by our runner up candidate for president, Al Gore! He came out to speak the truth about our world, our future and about global warming. I’ve always taken science seriously and I enjoyed it. Global warming is real no matter what Mr. Bush says.

Now how to get this on DVD for free? Visit sharethetruth.us!

Congrats My First Hit On Spoofee

Thanks Tony for the praise. :) Well I submitted a deal on Spoofee yesterday and today when I woke up and check Spoofee [[My Daily Routine]]. I discovered that my deal was up on it’s FrontPage, this is very exciting because it’s the first time I’ve submitted such a good deal worthy enough for their FrontPage. I love Spoofee! I also created a MySpace for their website and received two free finger rockets that my friends at Stony Brook broke :( . For anyone still interested in the monitor, it’s still available!

Visit their Spoofee Myspace here! :) Exciting! YAY!
