Google infogaphic reveals Android market data and popular apps
Google has published an infographic on its Android Developers blog, which details findings related to market data and various interesting statistics. One such finding is that the store has now reached the milestone of 10 billion downloads, as well as seeing a rise of one billion per month Since the opening of Google’s Android Market store, Android Games have been responsible for 2.5 billion of these downloads. This adds up to a 25.6 percent portion of the first 10 billion.
Continuing on with the theme of rising figures, it was also revealed that over 200 million Android devices have been activated and that every day, 550,000 more come online. This means that more and more consumers are purchasing devices, from places like the O2 store, and that they are becoming increasingly savvy with this type of technology. The infographic reveals many other details, such as the fact that the most popular time to download apps is on Sundays at 9pm.
As well as these facts, there are also some quirky statistics. The chart for the “Top 10 Most App-crazed countries” features South Korea at the top, with Hong Kong, Taiwan, the US, Singapore, Sweden , Israel, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway following on behind. These numbers are found by looking at downloads per capita and the findings are very interesting.
Other information in the infographic includes the fact that a total of 12 billion miles are navigated on Google maps every year and 1.87 million hours were spent using the IMDb app for Android in the last four months These findings are very interesting and show that Android use is very popular around the world. This infographic is very useful for collecting market data and also for studying the Android-related trends.
