I just recently installed the latest RC of Windows Vista and loaded all of my needed programs, and all of it was done without using a single CD! The Windows was installed though the network. If this was even attempted a couple of years ago, I would have used at least 3 CD’s to get all the installations in. This raises some thought, is this the end of the CD media era?

Who friggin uses CD’s anymore, almost no one, it’s all about the digital mp3’s and software downloads. Even movies and such are being retrieved through the internet. Companies like NetFlix and Blockbuster are pretty much fucked unless they start distributing through the internet. Faster internet connections and larger bandwidths are making all this possible. Look Ma, No CD’s!
